I WON!!! I WON!!! I WON!!! I WON!!! I WON!!!

I’m on top of the world today!!! I have nothing but nice things to say about everyone involved with the Celebrity Apprentice and I’m thrilled with Donald’s choice.

To be totally honest with you, I didn’t know I’d won until Donald said to Annie, “You’re Fired.” But the funniest line of the night came from my daughter Melissa who ran over to me after I won, saying, “I’m so happy!!! I feel like the mother of the bride!!!”

My grandson, Cooper, also had a great time at the finale and got to interview Donald for a school project. Guess what his question was? “How’d you get so rich?” Donald  told him, “I worked very hard.” When it was time for Cooper to ask a second question he said, “I forgot what I was going to ask you.”

Nothing made me happier than seeing all of my friends from God’s Love We Deliver during the finale. Everyone who worked so hard during the silent VIP auction showed up. So far we’ve raised over half-a-million dollars for their cause (and this is during a recession!!). My one and only regret is that in the Rivers’ house, Melissa won’t let me believe that charity begins at home.

Thank you to everyone who has sent me great wishes throughout the course of the show. Your support means the world to me!

I have tried to sit down and write my blog post for Monday morning five times now. And five times I have not been able to convey what it is I truly want to say. I could describe what I did during the task, where I went and how hard I worked, but there is so much more to express than just the basics.

Being named the Celebrity Apprentice means so much to me and I’ve become so emotionally involved in the show at this point. I just keep thinking of all the wonderful things that can be done at God’s Love We Deliver, if they receive the $250,000 prize money.

So, I want to write about the finale immediately afterward, when it's quiet and I've had a moment to process the experience, in order to give you all the best sense of how I’m feeling.

So bear with me…a new post will be up as soon as possible.

There was an article on Page Six in today’s New York Post, which basically says that I don't hate all poker players. True! I am just not particularly fond of Annie Duke, who happens to be a poker player.

What I didn’t like was the fact that Clint never asked us what we thought about his music and lyrics, but all in all I thought our jingle was pretty terrific. Maybe it could have been a little bit faster but it was great. Regardless, the other team won. Go figure! And in the boardroom, Clint was fired. Like I said, I’m tone deaf!

Following the boardroom, Jesse, Brandeeee, Annie and I were all called back in so that we could be interviewed by Piers Morgan, last year’s Celebrity Apprentice.  Piers used his knowledge from his victory to assess each candidate and determine which of us would move on to battle it out during the finale. 

Of course, Piers made his recommendations but it was ultimately Donald that chose to fire Jesse and Brandeeee as their interviews were the weakest of the four. So when it was all said and done, Annie and I came out of the boardroom as the sole survivors to bed pitted against each other in the final task.

On one hand, knowing that Annie is the opponent that I have to beat makes me want to win more than ever before.  The only problem is, Annie feels the same way about me and I know she’ll work like mad to try and outdo my every effort.

Our task this week was to write and perform a jingle for Chicken of the Sea tuna fish.Jesse and I were elated as who could be better to have on our team than Clint Black when you’re assigned such a thing? Sadly, this task didn’t play to any of my strengths as I am completely tone deaf! The only thing I know how to do is complain in three-quarter time. In fact, when I was down in New Orleans for Mardi Gras earlier this year, I found myself singing: “Oh when the saints, go marching in…they’re going to track mud all over my white carpets and who’s going to pay for the cleaning…”

I still think Clint is a snake, and I have very little respect for him as he totally disregards everyone else’s opinions, but this has nothing to do with the fact that he’s a very successful musician, performer and composer.

Because of this, Jesse and I both felt Clint should be the project manager for this task, and we let him do what has made him so famous. He went off by himself and came back a few hours later with both a jingle and a tune. Clint then put together the orchestration and called in several musicians to record the track.

Jesse and I kind of stood around and watched while the jingle was being recorded. It was great to see Clint in his own milieu. He knew exactly how to speak to the musicians in order to make them understand what they were needed to do. He really knew what he was doing.

Melissa and I were guests on Ellen DeGeneres’s show on Thursday and we were in this adorable little sketch about poker. Take a look here if you missed it.

For the record, I don’t hate poker. I’m a royalist. How can I hate any game that has queens in it?
